It's Official...I'm going to Ocean City!

As of last night around 6:30 P.M. it was made official that I will be off to Ocean City, New Jersey on May 31st at 6:20 A.M. Thanks to the Brown family (Michelle and Rick) my plane ticket was purchased and I will be traveling with Rick Brown and my roommate, Katelyn Phillips! The big day is approaching quickly and a lot of logistics are being worked out which makes project feel like even more of a reality.
According to my calendar, only forty-one days keeps me from embarking on this amazing journey. There is not a single day that goes by that I don't think about Ocean City; right now it seems like more of a fantasy.
On Monday night, Casey and David Millot (two CRU staff members that both attended Ocean City project a few years back) invited the whole Chico Ocean City group over for dinner. Josh Payne was also present and those three Ocean City Summer Project alumni provided us with a lot of great information and advice. I had not really considered, until Monday, that this summer is going to be the best summer I will ever have, but that I will still endure ups AND downs. When these downs do appear on project, I just have to remember this is normal and it happens but that the Lord is still dwelling in me. I would love if all my ministry partners could be praying for that. Praying that I will stay encouraged and positive even through those valleys.
I think the most exciting part about this summer is that I will come back changed. I will be the same Janae on the outside (who knows, maybe I'll a new hairstyle ;) but I'll still be the same!!) but a radically different person on the inside. Whenever I questioned whether or not I should attend summer project, all I could think about was how there was no way I wouldn't come back with a changed heart and a stronger passion to live my life for the Lord.
Thank you all for your generosity in supporting me in project, but most of all for your prayers. I'm still a little over a month away from my departure date and a lot still has to be done. Keep on praying and know that it is very much appreciated. God bless and thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!
